Papayas have lots of health benefits, but being commercially produced, their peel sometimes contains traces of fertilizers, dirt and toxic substances. You should carefully wash your papaya to avoid contaminating the pulp.

Papayas should be first cut in half, then their seeds are to be scraped off. You can save them in a bowl: they have a peppery flavor and can be used as a substitute for black pepper!

To peel it you can either use a melon baller to carve out the flesh, or use a knife to cut the peel off. Place your thumb on the peel to stabilize your grip and avoid cutting your fingers.
